“The Diamond Fuji” phenomenon occurs when the sun appears above the summit of Mt. Fuji at the exact moments of sunrise and sunset. You can see the sun lighting up the top of the mountain like a diamond. Yet the Diamond Fuji cannot be seen from just anywhere: it must be a place where Fuji can be seen to the east or to the west, and the weather conditions must be right. And it only happens twice a year.
