In July 2020, after the decision was made to postpone the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 due to the impact and rapid spread of COVID-19, TOBU TOWER SKYTREE Co. contracted to become an official supporter of the Tokyo 2020 Games (through operation and management of the TOKYO SKYTREE radio transmission tower and observation deck facilities).

Our aim is for the Tokyo 2020 Games to be recognized as a tournament full of symbolic hope that deepens the ties with which humanity will triumph over the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve this objective, TOBU TOWER SKYTREE Co. engaged in various efforts as an official supporter during 2020 so that we might spark the light of recovery in the hearts of all those who are determined to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic for a brighter future.

In September 2020, on the occasion of the 300th day before the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, we held a discussion with athletes to deliver their hopes and wishes, and broadcast the scene from TOKYO SKYTREE, the world's tallest freestanding radio tower. And to mark the 300th day before the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, we held interviews with three Paralympic sports players hopefuls who conveyed their own messages: five-a-side football player Kento Kato, paracanoe competitor Monika Seryu, and para-taekwondo competitor Mitsuya Tanaka.

As 2021 approached, we re-edited video content for a production with the addition of our hopes for the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Games. In 2021, we are undertaking various activities as an official supporter of the Tokyo 2020 Games in order to open the door to the future so that we can look out upon this new vista, the VIEW of HOPE.
